This type of Crab, Harpactocacinus punctulatus is from Verona, Italy and lived in the Eocene Period 50 million years ago. They also came from North America and North Africa. They had a widely oval, domed carapace (shell) with out a protruding rostrum, In Crustaceans, the rostrum is the forward extension of the carapace in front of the eyes.
It had an almost smooth surface, but with a dentate (a tooth-like or serrated edge)
 anterior and anterolateral edge. The Harpactocacinus had powerful claws which were of unequal sizes.
