Diopside, from Nyimba, Eastern Zambia (No.2)

Diopside is a monoclinic pyroxene mineral. it is one of the most common minerals in the pyroxine group which occurs in metamorphosed marble and is generally pale green(ish) to grey/green crystals. It can sometimes fluoresce bright powder blue.

It is found in locations as far apart as Afghanistan and Antarctica.
