It can also be found in Japan, Vancouver Canada, Northern California, Northern Italy and The Philippines although different in appearance and size in these localities.

Chrysanthemum stone is a non-renewable mineral meaning once deposits are gone no more would be available and those with excellent ‘petals’ are sought after minerals for collectors.

The stone can have different meanings depending to which culture. In China chrysanthemum stone is associated with wishes for a long and healthy life and is believed to have formed when two immortal lovers threw chrysanthemum flowers in the Liuyang River.

In Japan chrysanthemums hold a special place in Japanese culture as the symbol of the Imperial family. The imperial crest features a stylised chrysanthemum flower and The Chrysanthemum Throne is the name of the Japanese imperial line.  On ninth day of the ninth month The Chrysanthemum Festival, also known as the Chrysanthemum Day or Festival of Happiness, is celebrated in Japan.

Metaphysical properties will vary massively depending on opinion and maybe the location too but its unique appearance alone makes it a wonderful and very beautiful crystal to use either spiritually or simply display and admire.
