First found in 1992 by a cattleman in Goias, Brazil. Further pieces were recovered in 2000 by gold prospectors. There has been around 75kg of this meteorite recovered and it is estimated that there may be up to 1500kg in total on the Earth.

It is an iron meteorite in the class IAB and has been found to contain the rare minerals Sheibersite and Cohenite. It is chemically similar to the Capo del Cielo meteorites but its structure is very different.
