Morganite (Pink Beryl)

Two beautiful gem varieties of the mineral Beryl are intense Green Emerald, coloured by trace chromium, and Sea Green to Sky Blue Aquamarine, which contains trace iron. Other include Pink Morganite, Yellow (or Gold) Heliodor, colourless Goshenite, and a Raspberry Red, Manganese-bearing Beryl from the Wah Wah Mountains of Utah, USA. Common Beryl is usually Pale Green or White.

This mineral occurs as hexagonal prismatic or tabular crystals with flat or pyramidal terminations, or as massive, columnar or granular aggregates. Most Beryl is found in granites, granite pegmatites, and rhyolites, but can occur in metamorphic rocks such as schists.
